Consider it a must destination
We traveled last summer to Saint Tropez, France. It’s a beautiful, picturesque town on the shores of the
French Riviera in the South of France. If you haven’t been, consider it a must destination. We stayed at a lovely resort just outside of town called: Holiday Marina Resort, which is located right off Port Grimaud.
A haven for families
Ours, was a VIP, luxury mobile home that included not only an outdoor hot tub, but also a state-of-the-art BBQ facility, a top-notch kitchen, three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and a lovely yard, all of which were luxurious, built and designed to the highest standards.
The facilities in the resort included a nice restaurant, an outdoor pool and lavish green lawns, filled with all sorts of outdoor playing grounds — a haven for families.
The restaurant featured live shows by singers and dancers every night, which was a
lot of fun. But the highlight of the resort was most definitely it’s location right next to Port Grimaud.
The latter is a beautiful town which resembles Venice, as it is built on a series of canals, some of which open up to the Mediterranean Sea.
A great activity with the kids there, is to rent a small boat for about an hour and sail through the canals. There are loads of bars and restaurants right on the canals, and you can always find a lovely spot for lunch, dinner or just drinks.
There’s also a larger boat that goes all the way to Saint Tropez, about a 20-minute ride. It’s a lovely town in its own right. Surrounded by a large port, at which the yachts of the rich and the famous dock.
Nothing comes cheap in Saint Tropez.
This town offers everything from high end bars and restaurants to great shopping, although I have to admit, quite pricey. I have to offer you a few recommendations and a few warnings.
First, be ware that most of these beautiful restaurants are quite expensive, nothing comes cheap in Saint Tropez.
Second, you most definitely need a car in the area, as taxis are rare and quite expensive.
Third, reserve and rent a car a long time before your arrival as prices on location are insane.
Offering every ride imaginable
All in all, you should remember that beaches, especially high-end beaches in Europe.
Right outside of town you can find lovely beach restaurants and bars that are lively and buzzing with party goers almost at all hours of the day and night.
As far as kids go, you can also find a gigantic theme part right at the outskirts of Saint Tropez, offering every ride imaginable. As well as all the junk food one can dream of.
What else to do with the kids?
Go to the lovely beach of Port Grimaud... a mere ten-minute walk out of
the hotel. But head towards its far end, where a few restaurants are located and you can enjoy a light lunch right where the water meets the sand.
The pool, which I already mentioned, also features various activities for the kids, most in French, that’s true, but also in English.
There are lots of competitions and fun games, not your quiet getaway pool, but
rather action for the kids.
I highly recommend you try it out and of course, let me know what you think! Go St. Tropez!
