Verity is Hoover’s first ever thriller, and it’s simply awesome. And I am not a thriller-fan, I must admit. But this story unfolds in more than one twisted way and it’s strength lies in these twists and turns.
The story is told by a struggling writer, who tries to make ends meet, Lowen Ashleigh. As she is on the brink of financial ruin, she gets an offer she cannot refuse from Jeremy Crawford, the husband of a best seller writer who is injured, Verity Crawford.
Ashleigh moves into the Crawford household in order to go through the remaining notes and outlines Verity has left before her injury. But the more she digs into the messy study of the sick woman that owns it, the more horrified she is to reveal the truth about her. Especially after she develops romantic feelings towards Jeremy and comes across a twisted manuscript Verity never intended for anyone to read.
In this manuscript, Verity describes both the deaths and the aftermath of her dead daughters, the ones Jeremy is grieving.
I don’t want to tell you more, just that you should go get it, like yesterday. An incredible book!
Reminders of Him
Keena Rowan is a troubled young mother, recently released out of jail for a terrible, tragic mistake she made five years ago. She returns to the town where it all went wrong, in the hopes of reuniting with her four-year-old daughter. But the bridges to her daughter’s life have all been severely burned by what had happened five years earlier.
Everyone in her daughter’s life is determined to shut Keena out, no matter how hard she works to prove herself. The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner who has ties to her daughter.
Despite the risk of losing the trust of anyone around them, Keena and Ledger form a bond and become an important part of each other’s lives. With the romance growing, so does the risk.
Yet another masterpiece from Hoover, this romance novel gives its reader hope and a feeling of redemption and joy. Go get it!
